The Crow River Junction Model Railroad Club is building and modeling a multilevel HO layout and will be building a smaller Lionel Toy Train Exhibit layout. We also have two portable HO layouts for display at area train shows. One is a three section 16' x 4' layout, and the other is a one section layout. The main HO layout will be operated by Digitrax Chief premium command control system.

As one of the oldest model railroad clubs in the Midwest established in 1962, the Crow River Junction is registered with the IRS as a non-profit, teaching club. We are not "political" by any means. Club members come and work when they have the available time to contribute. Also, based on our clubs location, members are not responsible for any utilities and building insurance. Members are only responsible for a club yearly membership fee and monthly dues, a portion of which pays for layout and equipment insurance.

One of the club's goals is to teach individual members how to do things on their own, from how to draw or design a layout drawing, to building benchwork, laying track and turnouts, wiring a layout, building structures, and both basic and advanced scenery work, etc. The Crow River Junction is a 'hands on club'. It is not necessary to have prior model railroading knowledge or even to have your own equipment just the desire to learn about trains and model railroading.

Come out and join us in re-capturing the days when trains criss-crossed our state moving people, forest products, coal, grain and merchandise. By using model railroading layouts as a teaching method, we can show how the real railroads helped to build this country to both our young people and young adults and to others who may be interested in the history of the real railroads.
